Having worked as a recruiter and career adviser, she understands that maximizing the potential of any organization requires talented individuals with shared goals and values.
In career development, Ethel advised over 500 university graduates, paralegals, recent law graduates, and attorneys in strategic decision making to advance their professional careers and find their professional home at law firms, businesses, and the government.
Ethel’s experience as a recruiter, attorney, and career advisor are the perfect ingredients for partnering with firms on talent searches and guiding candidates to positions where they will flourish. As a recruiter, Ethel identified and cultivated talent for international development projects across all sectors (from hydrologists to legal experts!) in Central Europe, Africa, and Asia.
As an attorney, she worked in commercial restructuring and served as an active member of the hiring committee.
As a career advisor, Ethel has guided countless candidates through the process of finding the right fit, from entry level positions to lateral transitions.
Ethel serves as President for APABA-DC and previously served as Secretary. She has also held positions as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee and the Career Development Committee of the Women’s Bar Association in Washington, DC. She is a faculty member at the College of Professional Studies at The George Washington University and is a frequent presenter on career and professional development for legal professionals.
She has held leadership roles at the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA), and the American Association for Paralegal Educators (AAfPE). She works almost exclusively with attorneys of color and first-generation attorneys and am very active in local bar associations. I am Past President of APABA-DC and currently serve as President-Elect of the Women’s Bar Association of D.C.
Ethel has a B.A. in Spanish and Economics from Wellesley College and a J.D. from The George Washington University.
Ethel believes that diversity is the spice of life. She is a first generation Taiwanese-American who understands the importance of hard work and grit.

Abe was the Associate Dean for Professional Development and Career Strategy at the George Washington University Law School and a Director at the Georgetown University Law Center’s Office of Career Services.
He has worked closely with the hiring leaders at the nation’s top legal employers. In addition, Abe was an attorney at two AmLaw 100 law firms in Washington, DC.
Abe has counseled hundreds of attorneys on their job searches and fostered relationships with managing partners, general counsels, and recruiting managers. Abe was the Associate Dean for Professional Development and Career Strategy at the George Washington University Law School and a Director at the Georgetown University Law Center’s Office of Career Services. Abe has presented numerous times at conferences organized by the American Bar Association, NALP, Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA), and the Association of American Law Schools.
In his free time, Abe loves to play and watch sports. He has run several marathons, plays tennis regularly, and paddleboards in the Potomac.
Abe has traveled to 60 countries and 49 states. He recently purchased a piano and is hoping to expand his musical repertoire beyond three songs.

She has held several leadership positions on NALP and WALRAA. Sheila has a B.A. from Stanford University and J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
